FT5 Owners – Notice

Posted on August 12, 2022 By JARA-Admin

There are several FT5 owners that have had issues with WiresX and pi-star. If you run across an issue where folks are not hearing you on Wires-X via the repeater or pi-star through a hotspot, your radio may be “jammed up”. We have been unable to find the setting to correct the issue. You may have everything programmed in correctly and you’re able to use the repeater just fine, but not making it through WiresX or pi-star.

When your radio is jammed up, your Radio ID is not seen by Wires-X or pi-star and your transmissions are ignored.

The only remedy we’ve found to far is to reset your radio back to factory defaults and start over. If you backed up to a micro SD, the problem will be re-introduced when you restore from the micro SD. You basically need to start from scratch.

If you have run across this error and were able to recover either by making a setting change or restoring by using RT Systems YPS-FT5D programmer or the Yaesu ADMS-14 software, please share the information by using the Contact Us page, sending an email to NJ0P, or making the announcement on the Sunday evening JARA net.
